Welcome to anglican worship equippers (AWE)

equipping the saints for the Anglican Way of Worship

"Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe." — Hebrews 12:28-29

Whether you are a member of the clergy, a lifelong Anglican, or someone exploring this tradition for the first time, the Anglican Way of Worship offers a rich and welcoming path into ancient Christian worship. It is not just a tradition, but a global Christian community rooted in sacred Scripture, enlivened by the Holy Spirit, nourished by the Sacraments, and shaped by the Book of Common Prayer—uniting Christians in offering worship to the Triune God and equipping spiritual seekers to discover the Christian Faith.

At the heart of a typical Anglican worship service is a four-part rhythm—Gathering, Celebrating the Ministry of Word and Sacrament, and Sending believers to make disciples of all nations. Worship is deeply participatory: we pray aloud, sing together, stand, kneel, listen as God's Word is proclaimed, declare the historic creeds of the one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church, pray for those in authority and the needs of the world, confess our sins, and partake of the Lord's Table.

Through this biblically shaped liturgical pattern, worshippers are grounded in the ancient Christian faith, renewed by grace, and equipped to cultivate a daily lifestyle of worship that overflows into mission. No matter the style—High Church, Low Church, or Broad Church—what characterizes every expression of the Anglican Way of Worship is the desire "to offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe" (Hebrews 12:28-29).

The vision and mission of Anglican Worship Equippers (AWE) are rooted in Ephesians 4:11-12, where Paul teaches that Christ gave apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers "to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ." The Greek word for equip—katartismós—is rich and multifaceted. Derived from katartízō, it conveys more than training or preparing; it speaks of mending, restoring, setting in order, and making complete. In the Gospels, it describes fishermen mending their nets (Matthew 4:21). In Galatians, it refers to restoring a fallen brother (Galatians 6:1). In Hebrews, it points to God equipping His people with everything good for doing His will (Hebrews 13:21).

When the apostle Paul speaks of equipping, he envisions more than handing out tools. He describes the restorative and empowering work of fitting each believer into their God-given role so that the whole body of Christ may grow in health and oneness. This is at the heart of what AWE seeks to do in collaboration with clergy and lay leaders, who play a crucial role in guiding and nurturing the community. Through biblical teaching at retreats, workshops, symposiums, and pilgrimages, and ministry resources, believers are introduced to the ancient rhythms of Scripture, Spirit, and Sacrament, allowing their worship to deepen and their discipleship to mature.

We believe the Church is living in a kairos moment—a God-appointed season in which believers of all ages long to rediscover the awe-filled reverence and beauty of ancient Christian worship. If you're interested in creative ways to renew worship, disciple believers, strengthen families, and introduce your community to the Anglican Way of Worship, we would welcome the opportunity to learn about some of the unique needs of your church or ministry and co-labor with you in equipping the saints for worship and the work of the ministry.
